WebRTC leak outcome: pass in captured testing. Security.org reported zero WebRTC leaks in Chrome, Firefox, and Safari.
Kill switch behavior: pass in captured testing. vpnMentor forced connection drops and reported that the automatic kill switch prevented data exposure. Security.org also reported that CyberGhost’s kill switch cuts the internet connection when the VPN drops, and CyberGhost’s Mac evidence describes always-on protection in the macOS app.
Streaming Evidence
CyberGhost has good streaming evidence, but it is not perfectly clean. We tested Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, BBC iPlayer, Amazon Prime Video, Max, ESPN+, Paramount+, DAZN, Sling TV, and RTL+ in one captured pass, and that test marked the platforms as working. Netflix evidence is especially strong: CyberGhost worked with 15+ Netflix libraries, including the US, UK, Japan, Argentina, Brazil, and South Korea.
The disagreement comes from a separate Cybernews test. In that pass, Netflix and Hulu worked without buffering, including Netflix US, UK, Australia, and Japan. Disney+ and BBC iPlayer were less reliable: Disney+ only worked reliably on the US streaming-optimized server, and BBC iPlayer worked only on the streaming-optimized server with slow buffering.
For the final article, CyberGhost should be described as a good budget streaming option when using optimized servers, not as a flawless streaming VPN. YouTube playback was not enough captured evidence as a standalone streaming check.

However, RTINGS kill-switch robustness testing found TunnelBear traffic leaked during a Windows reboot scenario while the kill switch was enabled. Privacy evidence is better than most free VPNs. What We Liked
IPVanish held speeds unusually well across the core regional checks. The nearby US server was almost indistinguishable from the no-VPN baseline, and the Europe and Australia results stayed close enough that browsing, video calls, and HD streaming should feel normal on a typical MacBook connection. Latency still rose with distance, so this is not a magic fix for gaming on far-away servers, but the download and upload numbers were solid.
Leak protection was clean in our test matrix. We checked IP, DNS, and WebRTC behavior across multiple server locations and did not see the Mac expose the real connection details. The kill switch also behaved the way it should: when the VPN connection was interrupted, internet access was blocked instead of silently falling back to the unprotected connection.
The app is straightforward.
